ZESA Enterprises and Absolicon launch Africas first solar thermal energy factory in Harare, Zimbabwe.

Harare, Zimbabwe / Härnösand, Sweden – October 2, 2025 – ZESA Enterprises (ZENT) and Swedish solar pioneer Absolicon launched Africa’s First solar thermal energy factory in Harare. They had strong support from Zimbabwe’s Ambassador to Sweden, H.E. Priscila Misihairambwi-Mushonga.

The journey started with the late Dr. Sydney Gata, then ZESA Holdings Chairman, leading the First delegation to Absolicon’s headquarters in Härnösand, Sweden. Over the years, parliamentary and ministerial visits, with Ambassador Misihairambwi-Mushonga’s support, built momentum. At COP28 in Dubai, ZESA and Absolicon formalized their agreement, now being realized with this historic launch.

The Harare factory is Africa’s First ABB-robotized line for solar thermal collectors. It is designed to supply renewable heat to sectors like brewing, food, textiles, mining, and pharmaceuticals.

This innovative tech helps industries shift from fossil fuels to clean, affordable energy. The project is guided by the CleanTech Region Group, led by Lars Ling, CEO & Founder, as a strategic advisor.

On October 2–3, 2025, a significant event will occur in Victoria Falls. Zesa, in collaboration with Absolicon, will showcase. They will join the Africa–Nordic Business Roundtable and Plenary Sessions.

The focus will be on sustainable industrialization. This presentation will showcase Zimbabwe’s leadership in renewable energy and plans for the automated factory.
