Leaders from Sweden and Zimbabwe gathered at the Swedish Ambassador’s Residence in Harare. They attended a high-level Business Breakfast hosted by H.E. Per Lindgärde, which strengthened bilateral cooperation and accelerated sustainable industrial partnerships between Sweden and Zimbabwe.

A central highlight was the presentation by Absolicon Solar Collector AB on its strategic collaboration with ZESA Holdings. They aim to set up Africa’s first Solar Thermal Energy factory. This is a transformative initiative designed to industrialize clean heat production. It also aims to decarbonize African industries at scale.

Lars Ling is the CEO of CleanTech Region Group. He serves as a business advisor to Absolicon and ZESA. He facilitates partnerships, investment dialogue, and strategic positioning. His efforts aim to accelerate the energy transition and decarbonize African industries through solar thermal solutions.
Tafadzwa Chinamo is the CEO of the Zimbabwe Investment Development Agency. He shared investment perspectives. He highlighted Zimbabwe’s commitment to fostering international collaboration and sustainable growth.
The breakfast also convened Swedish industrial leaders. These included ABB, Sandvik, Atlas Copco, Husqvarna, Epiroc, and Scania. This demonstrates the breadth of Swedish innovation across energy, mining, infrastructure, and mobility.
The meeting reflected a shared ambition. The goal was to combine Swedish industrial excellence with Zimbabwean opportunity. This would unlock investment, create jobs, and have a climate-positive impact across Southern Africa.
Thank you, Your Excellency, for the invitation and for hosting an inspiring and progressive-looking breakfast.
